Vikki Nuttall - Folk singer, Songwriter and Strings player (6 and 12 string guitar, banjo and more)
About Me:
"I come from Canada & many of my
musical influences are from there, & many songs came
from here in Europe over the centuries...the fusion!
I started music at the age of 5, playing the fiddle, soon the
piano and singing, and the guitar at 12. I studied classical music
after leaving school at the Guildhall School of Music in London...but
only lasted a year!! My real love was my guitar and singing. I started
performing in clubs and coffee houses at 17...and have not looked
back!
I hope you enjoy my music and the practise sessions with good
friends, with out whom this would not be possible!"
My Music:
Vikki writes many of the songs that she performs, drawing on her experience of life, and the people she meets. They often have a slightly Canadian feel as her roots are firmly in Canadian soil.
She has recorded a solo CD, "One Foot on the Platform" that she sells to raise funds for the Dulverton Folk Festival and the Air Ambulance appeal.
Over the coming months she will be recording a CD with a little help from some of her friends that will include many of her more recent songs - some of which are included here with recordings of some of the practise sessions.
In 2009, a song inspired by friend and
fellow musician, Sally Maynard
was first sung for Rememberance Sunday:
