Who is
behind Musicians Umbrella?
Bex Smith is an occasional webdesigner, qualified reflexologist, mum of 3 gorgeous children, and perhaps most significantly for this website, a musician! She has played for her own pleasure since learning flute at school. She only did a couple of grades before realising that she preferred jamming along in folk clubs in her mid teens. From there she has continued to play at folk clubs in her locality - both in Somerset, and on the Isle of Wight while she lived there for 4yrs...

Why set up yet another website for musicians?
...It was during this time she met an inspirational friend with a superb singing voice, who also plays guitar and writes her own songs too. Discussing ways of promoting her music to a wider audience, along with using some of the more established routes, the idea of having a dedicated website, where musicians could come together under one banner, came into being. What you see today is the start of this website, aimed at those musicians who want to promote themselves on the world wide web, without the finances for a full website, or lack perhaps the time, knowledge or inclination to create their own. Sticking with that wonderful KISS theory she aims to have a simple website where there is no clutter, just relevant information about musicians!Want to know more?
